Miscanthus 'Purpurascens'

Is much shorter than the other Miscanthus. By late summer the upper surface of the leaves shows warm brown, enhanced by the shining central vein which is pink. Narrow pinkish-brown flower heads appear in autumn when the whole plant becomes suffused with shades of red, orange and buff.
