Origanum vulgare 'Compactum'

I am enchanted by this modest plant. It makes low dense cushions of small, aromatic leaves, smothered from midsummer to autumn with clusters of tiny, pale pink flowers, emphasised by dark maroon calyces. Ideal as edging plant, or ground cover beneath roses.
