Alcalthaea

Although a hybrid between two genera, x Alcalthaea flowers produce abundant nectar and pollen which are attractive to a wide range of insects, including bumblebees, hoverflies and beetles. Many species of beetle, especially weevils, eat the leaves; while these may be considered 'pests' they do of course form the bedrock of foodchains and are therefore of immense value.

With rust diseases affecting many of these hybrids, we are taking a pause in selling these plants.
