Ampelodesmos
One species of grass, from northwestern Africa and parts of the Mediterranean. Tussock forming, robust, very hardy with us and can produce many arcing flowers over most of the year. Growing in our dry garden.
The overwintering tussocks of this grass are important, sheltered hibernation sites for many beneficial insects such as ladybirds.
