Amsonia orientalis

In this instance the species name orientalis refers to its distribution on the eastern edges Europe, into Asia, hailing from from Greece and Turkey. Slowly produces a clump of slender stems clothed in narrow, elliptic, grey-green leaves, edged with fine hairs. Topped in late spring to summer, with clustered heads of small starry grey-blue flowers, from dusky blue buds, it always draws attention.
