Aruncus dioicus

Grows in mountain woods and along shady stream-sides from central Europe to China and Japan, also North America. A superb plant. Elegant sprays of light green pinnate leaves emerge in spring. Long tapering spires of tiny green become cream seed pearls, finally bursting into a creamy frothy blossom in early summer. Male plants make superior flowers. Female plants produce interesting seed heads.
