Berlandiera lyrata

A potentially excellent drought-tolerant plant from the southern half of North America. Clusters of grey-green foliage, with yellow daisy-like flowers in summer. On hot days, the air around the plant is filled with an incredible chocolate scent. The flowers are full of detail, with rings of deep-red fertile flowers, inside the bright yellow petals (ray-florets). Even as these fold up in the evening, they reveal delicate purple marbling underneath.
