Prolonged drought intensifies the white felted coating which protects leaves and stems. Pendulous clusters of furry white buds open tiny lilac flowers, in spring in to summer. Often a second flush of flowers in the autumn. Forms medium to large shrub. Best against a warm wall in a well drained soil.
