Calendula

The ubiquitous marigold, as perennials and annuals, producing showy bright daisy-like flowers, yellows through to reds, in summer and autumn. Foliage aromatic. Some calendula are used in ointments, oils, dyes and petals used in salads and various savoury dishes. Found from Northern Europe, to North Africa and Western Asia.
