Codonopsis clematidea

Along tangling, prostrate stems hang palest blue bells; tip them up to see the surprising vivid design inside. Flowers late spring to summer. In areas with higher rainfall grow through a evergreen shrub, which will give the stems some support and can protect the overwintering tubers from excessive moisture and frost. At Beth's we grow it in our scree garden, in full sun and on a free-draining soil, where It makes a small delicate alpine-like plant.
