Cota

Perennials throughout Europe  and Asia. Very typical of the daisy family (Asteraceae) with showy white to yellow flowers, spring into summer and many of them. Dead-heading will help prolong flowering. Foliage can be attractively finely cut and aromatic. Generally grow in full sun and in a well-drained soil.

All forms of anthemis produce abundant nectar and pollen in the disc-flowers at the centre of the daisy-like flowerhead. These attract and are pollinated by many insects with hoverflies being especially well represented. Having a long flowering-period they can form a valuable component to any wildlife garden.

Previously these were known as Anthemis.
