Echeveria
Evergreen succulent perennials, those with thicker fleshy leaves capable of surviving periods of drought. The rosettes of leaves provide almost an endless supply of variation whether in colour, shape or texture. Tubular or urn-shaped flowers, generally yellow, orange and red. In the wild they often grow on steeper slopes, to provide water to the roots, but also to allow that water to drain away very quickly. Native to the Americas, with many species from Mexico.
