Rhodanthemum
Typically low growing daisy-like perennials, with white flowers and fine, sometimes silvery foliage. They are found in the Western Mediterranean region, often in the North African mountains. A good sunny spot with a well drained soil is essential. Protect from excessive winter wet.
As with all 'daisy-like' flowers, the disc-flowers in the centre of the flowerhead produce nectar and pollen that are used by insects such as bees and butterflies. The plants can therefore provide a resource in the most barren-looking rock or scree garden.
