Description
Purple stained stems clothed in blue-grey leaves carry wide flat heads of raspberry-red flowers first opening in mid-August. Quantities of new shoots bearing unopened buds appear from leaf-axils, from ground-level upwards, to make a continuous show well into late autumn. By late autumn plants look like glowing coals, with many shades of red, from bright tones of fresh flowers to deep bronze-red of mature heads.
