This Californian native has large white flowers, with a central yellow ring, beautifully frilly around the edge of each petal. Leaves are typically pleated. Originally from Tom Mitchell. Although from California, this needs a good, fertile soil, that doesn't dry out and shade. Caution:toxic if eaten.
