This is a specially free-flowering form of scarlet hummingbird trumpet. Wiry, bushy plants are clothed in tiny felted leaves, smothered in late-summer-autumn with brilliant-scarlet, tubular flowers. With good drainage and full sun it thrives in very dry conditions. But remember not to cut down any untidy top growth until the spring. Synonym Zauschneria californica 'Western Hills'.
