The tall wiry rod emerges in August from stiff grassy foliage, the tip weighted gracefully with pink bells, which develop into bead-like clusters of seed. Suitably elegant arching over and reflected in water. Dierama grow in the grasslands of South Africa. Once planted they can take 2-3 years to settle down, before they send up flowering sheaths.
