Amethyst asters are hybrids of S. novae-angliae (New England aster) and S. ericoides (white heath aster). This form from Ewald Hügin (expert plantsman from Freiburg, Germany), produces clouds of small blue flowers, late in the season, excellent for pollinators. More resistant than others to powdery mildew. A variety recommended from Old Court Nursery.
