Tolerates some sun and well drained soil. Thrives here in open spaces in the poor sand of my woodland garden, where it makes good ground cover, sending out long trails of dark green matt leaves sprinkled with gentian-blue flowers. Good cover for bulbs, e.g. Colchicum and Narcissus. Succeeds on chalk.
