Year-round pollinator plant menu

 Year-round pollinator plant menu

We love gardens. We love wildlife. And with good planning we can have both.

All plants are useful to something or other, but some are better than others. It’s not just a question of whether the plant is a British native or not: while native plants may be more use to more insects, to restrict your garden palette in that way is to lose the incredible, exciting range of gardening opportunities from around the world.

This ‘menu’ is really interesting. I had noticed one or two of these creatures already like the bee fly enjoying the Pulmonaria. Now I shall learn from this list and, armed with my cuppa, go creature spotting with a bit more knowledge each morning. Thank you.

Really useful, I shall be printing this out to refer to - in my customers gardens and my own.
Thank you

This pollinator plant list is brilliant! To have the detail of species, rather than just 'attracts pollinators', is so useful. And to have this information in your plant descriptions is going to be great. I shall be looking extra hard at my lamiums and pulmonarias this year for Hairy-footed Flower Bees, a species I've never seen.

I am just planning a new garden, albeit a very small one. The extra information will be wonderful for me to use in the planning so I can ensure the garden is not only pleasing to me, but it will be a "happy" place for wildlife too. Thank you so much.

Thank you, Chris! What a wonderful idea to issue this list.
Am already working my way through and discovering where the gaps are in my garden.
Best wishes
