Asa, Emily and Malin joined Carol Klein and the Landform team last week to help plant up Carol’s ‘Iconic Horticultural Hero’ garden at the Hampton Court Flower Show.
Show Manager Emily has been busy propagating and preparing suitable plants for the drought-tolerant, seaside element of the garden, ensuring there would be a variety of textures, shapes, colours and height. The plants have been lovingly cared for by Emily and am sure have given her many sleepless nights!
On Tuesday, the garden team loaded the plants onto trollies and carefully wrapped them for their journey to London. Arriving early at show garden site on Wednesday morning, Asa, Emily and Malin waited nervously for the precious cargo to be delivered, busying themselves by preparing the planting area. By 9:30am, the van had arrived and the team could breathe a sigh of relief after checking the plants were still in tip-top condition!
It was all hands on deck on Wednesday and Thursday to get the plants laid out, planted and watered in. As with our own show garden at Hampton Court in 2019, the plants have been kept in their pots to allow for easy removal once the show is over and the plants are either sold or relocated.
Once all the plants were in place, the gravel mulch could be added to the surface to cover the soil and to bring the planting together.
All finished and ready for press day!
Well done team!!
