Spring Nursery News
Our Nursery Team have been working hard creating a space on the nursery especially for our younger visitors to enjoy. The area now contains an outdoor kitchen, bug hotel, stepping stones, teepee and ladybird noughts and crosses. The space was created using materials and items that we already had on site, including metal trays from our Tearoom that were no longer needed and wooden pallets left over from plant pot deliveries.
We've had some great feedback so far; some have even said that this is the best mud kitchen ever!
Our outdoor kitchen
The outdoor kitchen is stocked with many 'ingredients', including soil, sand, pine cones, leaves, flowers and sticks. If any budding chefs are struggling for inspiration, there are recipe cards on hand to help with the next meal idea!

Creepy crawlies are encouraged to visit the recently refurbished Bug Hotel, offering accomodation to a range of different insects.

Non- recyclable plastic pots collection
A large wheelie bin, for the collection of non-recyclable plastic pots, has arrived from Green Recycling a local company based in Maldon. The bin can be found on the plant nursery next to the sales shelter. This waste is classified as Refuse Derived Fuel, which is pelleted and fed into the National Grid to produce electricity at a special processing plant.
Recycle your plastic pots here
The aim is that this service can be used by our customers to encourage them not to put plastic pots into landfill if they can’t be reused.
*we are currently only accepting black plastic plant pots.
