Athyrium filix-femina

In spring, the delicate, lace-like, light green fronds arise, reaching a peak in midsummer. It prefers a moist soil, where it will make 1m plus, but will make do with a drier and more exposed site, with reduced effect. In mild winters the fronds may stay green, otherwise, they turn a rusty brown. Cut them back in late winter.
