From New Zealand, this beautiful sedge varies in foliage colour and we offer a particularly well-coloured clone. It forms arching tussocks of mahogany-brown grass-like leaves, brightest when young, the whole effect very striking among other foliages. We have overwintered it outside for several years, but it could be affected by specially cold winters. A little more robust than Carex punicea (U. rubra) and with slightly broader foliage.
Synonym Carex uncinata.
