We take great care to produce your peat free plants. Propagation and growing on is carried out by our team who will only part with your plants once they are strong and well rooted.

Holcus

Tufted or creeping, according to species, Holcus species are undeniably attractive grasses, often delightfully soft and downy to the touch that provide shelter for invertebrates, including beneficial predators like ladybirds, throughout the year. The native H. lanatus (known evocatively as Yorkshire-fog) is an important food-plant for the larvae of several butterflies including speckled wood and small skipper; our other native species H. mollis is favoured by the Essex skipper.
