Grown from seed sent to us, collected in the wild. Has survived here many winters outside in well-drained soil. Such magnificent appearance one might think it to be a conservatory plant. Forms huge heads, (23cm across) of large, light-blue, open, bell-like flowers, each petal marked with dark central vein, giving a striped effect. Each head creates a light airy effect since individual flowers are poised on long slender stems attached to a central point. Occasionally a second tier of flowers is held above the lower one. Flowers last longer than many other forms, well into August. We believe this to be an exceptional introduction. Evergreen, especially in milder winters.
