Similar to Veronicastrum sibiricum, but with a reduced range of Sakhalin island. Happily growing in our new reservoir garden, more compact than other veronicastrums and with attractive spikes of lilac flowers.
We previously had this named as V. sachalinense however upon further investigation it should be named Veronicastrum sibiricum f. glabratum. Although it may also be sold under the name V. sibiricum var. yezoense!
