Dwarf penstemon selection. Shiny- green leaves, which can colour up maroon in autumn and over winter, staying evergreen when mild. White, tubular flowers appear from early summer. Drought tolerant. Good for a crevice and rock garden, but would take a front of the border position, if given little competition.
Picture number 2 show the typical Penstemon hirsutus var. pygmaeus, with mauve coloured flowers, but in this f. albus the flowers are white.
